3rd trading day in August and it’s my 2nd red day. The beginning of the month is usually tricky for me. On Monday I’m going to reduce share size below 6,000 shares. My new rule for August is to use tight stops. The same strategy that lost me $5K today is the same strategy that brought my account from $583 to over $700K and will take that account to over $1 million dollars. Historically August has been a really tough month for me. I need to stay disciplined, stay focused and trade the market I’m in and not the market I want to be in. $WMLP (Westmoreland Resource Partners LP) -$17.50, $NSYS ( Nortech Systems Incorporated) -$5,075.15, Total: -$5,092.65.

For day trading we focus primarily on 5min charts while swing traders focus more on daily charts. The patterns in general are the same. I teach traders how to find patterns in real-time including Bull Flags, Bear Flags, Flat Tops, Flat Bottoms, and Rubber Band Reversal Setups.

If you can’t make money in a demo account, you have no business trading a real account. We have saved students hundreds of thousands of dollars by encouraging paper trading while they are learning. The market will be here for a long time to come. The important thing for you right now is to build up the skills to trade the market successfully. You will learn that once you possess the skills to consistently make $20.00/day all it takes to make $200 is larger share size. Then all it takes to make $2000 is again, larger share size.
